I find the most interesting, colourful and eccentric people early mornings on my walks. I was in Haridwar for two nights and each night as walked back and morning walking out this chap was next to the hotel. Last time he gestured for me to take his picture. He was laughing at the end result.

Ladies in red - better to be lucky and in the right time and right place - saw these ladies laughing and having fun on the banks of the Ganges. Clearly the clean air, holy water and good friends made the day so fun.

Haridwar, in the foothills of the Himalaya’s, is truly an amazing place. A major spiritual centre for many Indian’s on the Ganges river and packed with festivals and activities.

Too many photo opportunities and this sadhu captured my attention as he sheltered from the rain with a relaxing smoke.
