Tokyo

Tokyo

Landing in Tokyo for most people is like landing on another planet. This is a comment that heard so frequently.

A metropolis of 12 million people who reside with an area of approx 1200sq km this represents almost one quarter of the total population Japan. Thinking of this in a different way you understand why there always seems to be a constant crush everywhere in Tokyo from shops, sidwalks to subways....at every hour.

Visually Tokyo is also so different from other citys with in constant neon world pushing every new product at your 24 hours a day.

Despite the constant activity, throng of people and difference to almost everywhere else Tokyo offers a level of safety and protection enjoyed very rarely today. In fact, leave your handbag on the subway and you will most likely have it back, money and cards intact, by end of day courtesy of Tokyo's residents.

For first time visitors dont expect Tokyo to be your typical asian city like Hong Kong, Bangkok or Shanghai. In fact it is more westernised that most American cities and once away from the neon-lit main streets appears more of a concrete urban jungle than most have every experienced.

Take time to understand and experience Tokyo, spend time watching people and learn that Tokyo operates at a very different pace to the rest of the globe.
